Megan Creel started attending service at First UMC Lockhart in October 2016, having first encountered the congregation through its Children's Ministries. She was so won over by how gracious and lovingly the Education Team ministered to her children, she started attending Sunday services, and was welcomed into the Choir.

After many personal and small group encounters that healed old church hurts from her youth, Megan took a leap of faith and participated in a leadership and worship experience called The Walk to Emmaus. She had a beautiful, transformative experience there where she simultaneously became more of herself and more attuned to God through Christ.

Upon her return from that weekend retreat, Megan became very interested in applying her administrative and communications skills to help our church function better in all its vectors that work to bring the transformative grace of Jesus Christ to the community, and to make more disciples of Christ who will do the same. This has been her calling ever since.

Currently, Megan is a contracted staff member working in the Evangelism & Communications areas, with a focus on all things multimedia, and she is blessed to still sing with the choir.

Megan has a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from UT Austin, and 20 years of experience and corporate training in administrative structure, communication, and education. Previous to her work with the Methodist church, she regularly volunteered and lead teams in adult literacy programs, criminal reform, and child and youth tutoring and education. She has also homeschooled her two children for 15 years, been an entrepreneur in the visual arts, and is a published fiction author.

She lives in rural Lockhart with her husband of 20 years, their two teenaged children, and several assorted pets and plants.
